"Ringing Into Peel"
I am ringing in today
bright yellow
at last
I will not wait until tomorrow
today is spring
I have declared it
I am peeling off my thick winter layer
now
tired of leaning out from the inside
for the sound
that I have to be opened
to become

"Tiger Fish"
"Tiger Fish"
He is a TigerFish, an ocean kitten
I am the water, and I am smitten
Perhaps he will swim over me
while the sun beats his colours down
in through my senses
ocean lenses
innocence comes around
From tidal pools and shallow water
a later bloomer, depths to charter
his world to spin, open and ripen
let him grow within, let his opals brighten
In waves he travels, a sun-marked rover
let the ocean turn, let it turn time over
when it's his turn, his own to bloom,
his oceans uncover, a sea with room
With space enough to hold him
in glass and golden
and water woven
and dream enfold him
He is a TigerFish, a later bloomer, an ocean kitten
I am the water, I have been smitten
Perhaps he will swim over me
while the sun beats his colours down
in through my senses
ocean lenses
innocence comes around
